Player reminder: NPCBots are hired creature companions owned by your character. Replace values shown in capital letters. Commands beginning with a period are server commands.
This guide covers normal player-facing NPCBot commands and usage.

Getting Started
- Be alive and out of combat.
- Target yourself if using direct recruitment, or use the helper menu.
- Recruit a class
The bot is created as a hired NPC companion. Recruitment requires an available hire slot and the required cost. The exact available slots, hire time, and price are shown by the helper menu.
The helper menu can be opened with:
.npcbot helperIt can also be opened through the in-game NPCBot Helper gossip option when that option is available.
Recruitment and Removal
Simply recruit NPC Bot via the command

Removing a bot releases it from your active roster. It is different from temporarily hiding a bot.
Basic Bot Commands
Follow and Stay

These commands affect your active NPCBots together. Use stay before positioning for a pull, speaking with an NPC, or arranging a formation.
Follow Distance

The accepted distance range is 0 through 75. A lower distance keeps bots closer; a higher distance gives them more room to move.
Summon, Hide, and Show
Summon

Summoning is blocked when you are dead, in combat, in flight, teleporting, or otherwise unable to summon. The bot must also be alive and eligible to return.
Temporarily Hide or Show a Bot

Hiding is temporary and is not the same as removing or releasing a bot.
Bot Information and Reset
View NPCBot Information
Select yourself or a member of your party, then use:
.npcbot infoThe command reports the selected player's owned NPCBot count by class and shows how many are alive. You cannot use it on an unrelated player.
Reset NPCBots

Normal players cannot reset NPCBots while in combat. Select yourself or the specific bot before using the command.
Group Main Tank
The main tank command tells NPCBots which group member they should use as the tank reference for their behavior.

You must be in a group and be the group leader or assistant to set the main tank. Select a group member or NPCBot first. In very small parties, selecting an NPCBot as main tank may be rejected.
Recruitment, Groups, and Hire Time
The helper menu provides options that are easier to use than direct commands:

The helper menu displays your current hire expiry and available hire slots. Hire renewal can fail when the contract is expired, at its maximum duration, or when you do not have enough money.
Contract Expiry

These commands are different from .npcbot remove and .npcbot hide. Always select yourself or one of your own NPCBots before using them.
Common Workflows
Recruit and Group a Healer
.npcbot command followAlternatively, open .npcbot helper, choose Recruit a Minion, select Priest, and confirm the purchase.
Prepare for a Pull
.npcbot command stay
.maintankUse .npcbot command stay to hold all bots. Select the intended tank or tank NPCBot and use .maintank to set the group reference. Use .npcbot command follow when ready to move.
Recover a Missing or Distant Bot
- Select yourself and use
.npcbot summonto resummon all active bots. - If only one bot is missing, select that bot if it is visible and use
.npcbot summon. - If the bot is hidden, select yourself and use
.npcbot show. - Use
.npcbot distanceto check the shared follow distance.
Permission and Troubleshooting

| Wrong bot class | Use a supported class name such as priest, mage, or warrior. |
| Death Knight will not join | The controlling character must be level 55 or higher. |
| NpcBots per-character limit exceeded | You have no available character hire slot. |
| NpcBots per-account limit exceeded | Your account has reached its NPCBot ownership limit. |
| No NpcBot hire slots available | Use the helper menu to review available hire slots or contracts. |
| Group is full | Free a group slot before recruiting or grouping another bot. |
| Cannot use command | Check your selection, combat state, death state, flight state, and ownership. |
| Cannot reset bots in combat | Leave combat, then select yourself or the affected bot and retry. |
Selection Rules
- Select yourself to affect all of your active NPCBots.
- Select one of your NPCBots to affect only that bot.
- You cannot remove, hide, show, summon, reset, or expire another player's NPCBot.
- Commands may be blocked while dead, in combat, in flight, teleporting, charmed, or in a restricted area.
- Use the full command names when learning the system; short aliases are optional.
